Tips for Choosing the Best Beach Resort in Costa Rica

Finding the best beach resort in Costa Rica may seem like a daunting task, thanks to the many quality resorts available. You may even think that where you stay doesn’t matter – after all, it’s all in Costa Rica, right? Just because a resort is in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, doesn’t mean it’s the best place to stay. Here are some tips for choosing the perfect resort for your Costa Rican vacation:

  • Choose a resort that has its own private beaches. With private beaches, you don’t have to worry about fighting the crowds for your time in the sand. Many of the luxury resorts have private beaches that are strictly for guests.
  • Do a little bit of research on a resort before you book your room. The best resorts have websites you can visit that include pictures of the surroundings. Pay attention to these pictures and make sure that the beaches are clean and spacious.
  • Talk to the staff of potential resorts before making your reservations. Ask questions about the beaches, such as how big the beach area is, if there are any beach activities, and other pertinent questions.
  • Choose the resort that offers the beaches you desire, but is also still close enough to the other activities you want to enjoy during your stay. For example, the Ylang Ylang has a beautiful stretch of white, sandy beaches for guest use – but we’re also located only a few minutes away from Montezuma, to ensure that our guests have the full Costa Rican experience.
